MCP-Enabled IP Patent Analysis System

Law firms are increasingly leveraging generative AI for complex legal tasks like IP and patent analysis. This challenge focuses on building a sophisticated multi-agent system that can analyze patent documents, identify potential infringements, rule out flimsy filings, and summarize key legal aspects. The system will integrate with a simulated proprietary legal database using MCP and employ cutting-edge reasoning techniques to ensure accuracy and relevance. Participants will design an agentic workflow capable of cross-referencing legal texts, extracting critical clauses, and generating structured reports suitable for legal professionals. The solution requires an MCP-enabled agent team using AutoGen for collaborative legal research. Agents will interact to perform patent claim analysis, prior art searches, and infringement risk assessment. Emphasis is placed on robust RAG over a specialized legal corpus, leveraging Claude Opus 4.5's extended context window and reasoning capabilities, along with DSPy for optimizing LLM interactions and ensuring high-quality, factual outputs.

Challenge brief

What you are building

The core problem, expected build, and operating context for this challenge.

Build an MCP-enabled multi-agent system using AutoGen and Claude Opus 4.5 for IP patent analysis, integrating with proprietary legal databases via MCP.

Delivery guide

How work is evaluated

Evaluation

The evaluation will assess the multi-agent system's ability to accurately analyze patent documents, identify potential infringements, and generate coherent legal summaries. It will focus on factual correctness, relevance to the prompt, and proper use of MCP tool integration for data access.
